Day to Day in Him

 Hello!  My name is Ashley Chapman.  I am a New Testament christian (Acts 11:26) who is a believer in the power of God, His Son, and His Word (the Bible - 2 Tim. 3:16-17).  I believe in the power of the full Bible.  The Old Testament's ability to give us examples of faith and God's mighty power.  And the New Testament teachings of Jesus and God's new covenant He has made with us (Hebrews 8).  I believe that through the death and resurrection of God's Son, Jesus, we are given an opportunity to live for Him and ultimately recieve our final reward in Heaven (1 Peter 1:3-4).

I believe that our reward comes with 6 actions...

1. Hearing the Gospel 

(Romans 10:17; 1 Cor. 15:1-4)

2. Believing in Jesus

(John 8:24; John 14:6; Acts 16:30-34; Mark 16:16)

3. Repenting of Sins

(Acts 17:30-31, Acts 2:27-46)

4. Confessing Jesus as Lord

(Matt. 10:32-33; Romans 10:8-10; Acts 8:26-40) 

5. Being Baptized in water for the remission of sins

(Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38-41; Acts 8:36-38; 1 Peter 3:21-22)

6. Continue to live a faithful life that is guided by the Lord and His Word

(Eph. 2:8-10; Phil. 3:14-16; Gal. 3:27-29; Eph. 4:4-7; Romans 6:3-6; 2 Tim. 2:1-13)

 

Like most people, I look forward to big milestones in my life...finding the man who will complete me for God's will, getting married, having children...the list could go on forever.  I ashamedly spend a lot of time thinking and wishing to reach my next stage of life and lose sight of many things: my endless blessings, why I am truly here on earth, who I am living for, and who I need to be in His Kingdom.  I started this blog to create a place to remind myself and others that our lives are to live for the Lord, fight this war against our Adversary, and to bring lost ones home to a merciful heavenly Father.
